Looking for a life changing experience?

Are your looking for a life changing experience? Have you ever wanted to change something in your life? You might say what a silly question at this time of year, with New Year resolutions being made and broken, diets, Feb-Fast and an ever-changing, fast-paced world.  Perhaps you want a change of perspective?  Or you may wish to help others less fortunate than yourself?

Thailand Social Venture Program - Life Changing Experience

Life Changing Experience in Thailand

The Social Venture Program is a 6-day experiential learning opportunity that is uniquely designed to help individuals explore diversity with compassion, sensitivity and to develop the ability to create meaningful and lasting change.

Led by Peter Baines OAM, the program will expose participants to unique and remote areas of Thailand and provide access to some remarkable humanitarians whose insights and experiences will blow your mind.

Through team building and discovery sessions, participants will develop their skills and have their current thinking to create a profound life changing experience around the following areas tested:

  • Leadership
  • Resilience
  • Tolerance
  • Compassion
  • Humility
  • Courage
  • Strength
  • Innovation
  • Influence

In July 2017, our General Manager, James English will embark on a self-funded Social Venture Program to Thailand to help some of the most impoverished people in the world.

Upon embarking on this journey, James has decided that he would like to raise at least $2,000 (which is about $15 a day until his trip to Thailand in July).  James is planning to hold a charity event in the lead up to this Social Venture Program.  He has now extended his goal to $30 a day – which now equates to raising $4,000 in 5 months.  Not only will James make a difference through his travels to Thailand, but with the additional proceeds he is planning to raise, will enable more opportunities for the community through financial support.

100% of donations goes to the kids and their communities.  No donors’ money will go to administration in Australia or staff costs for marketing or fundraising.

Hands Across the Water runs a number of community outreach programs and during the July trip to Thailand, it will see participants work on Community Programs in ‘Khlong Toei Slums‘ of Bangkok where they will demolish and rebuild homes and ‘Home Hug Orphanage‘ and ‘Sirom‘ in Yasothon.

James is seeking both corporate and individual sponsors, but he makes his fundraising goal very realistic when he breaks it down as follows:

I just need:

~ 4 people to donate $1000 or

~ 8 people to donate $500 or

~ 16 people to donate $250 or

~ 40 people to donate $100 and we have hit the target to help support the kids.

Hands Across the Water is an Australian Charity founded in 2005 and commenced operations by building a home for the Children left without parents as a result of the Boxing Day Tsunami. Hands Across the Water has expanded it’s reach to operate in several locations across Thailand and that growth has been possible by building strong shared experiences with those that join the journey.  It’s these rich experiences that has led to the strong engagement that exists in it’s supporter base.
