Uluru is one of the most iconic symbols of Australia. People all over the world are able to recognise the landscape and image, and associate it with the country. Even though it is iconic, not many people take the time to visit it even though it is right in our own backyard.

If you choose to visit Uluru, which is located in the Kata Tjuta National Park, there are tons of things to do that are great for all types of travellers. Favourite activities within the area include a guided hike around some of the most famous natural landmarks, a helicopter ride over the landscape, or riding a camel through the desert outback.

Challenge Yourself to One of the World’s Most Difficult Hikes

Those who want to experience a true trekking and bushwalking experience may want to consider challenging themselves to hike the Larapinta Trail. This trail is 223 kilometres long and requires several days of camping, but the views and experience alone are well worth it.

Due to the challenging nature of the Larapinta Trail, it is not recommended for beginner hikers or those travelling as a family – unless they are experienced hikers. If you are unable to take the Larapinta Trail, there are other options available, such as a shorter guided hiking trip that will take you to see all the beautiful natural vistas.

Other Favourite Activities to Do in The Red Centre

Hiking the trails and visiting the iconic Uluru aren’t the only things to do in the Red Centre. There are hundreds of activities to enjoy if you choose to take an Easter holiday to this area.

Other favourite activities to do in the Red Centre include:

  • Shopping the street vendors in Alice Springs
